SunRentals went Brasil!!! Not for soccer, no for the Padi Festival. 4 Sao Paulo's days of fun, falla Portuguese and festival! Also visiting diveshops in Rio Di Janeiro, jogging @the Copacabana, eating @ Restaurant Maurius!!!
@ the palestra in Sao Paulo meeting all Tour Operators at Padi Festival, Arriba Tours, Adventure Tours, 10 years and still going strong, and Vectra Tours, all friends after coming to Brasil now for 8 years!!! And last but not least... Bogotá for a visit to my best friend Juan Carlos of Buseo y Velo!

Lot's of family members came over to enjoy the special day.

Hi all, friends and famous!

Joy is back home again!
I travelled for 7 months in South America and it was a amazing experience I can tell you!
I've seen and learn so much.
Now I can speak some Spanish and understand all my Spanish fans! hahaha!
The people in all countries are so beautiful and friendly.
Bolivia is one of my favorits because of culture, people, traditional clothes and a very very beautiful landscape!!!
From the snow on 5130 meter altitude to the jungle down, the salt lakes to the pretty towns, the witches market to the modern shops in La Paz.

But of course I also enJOYed the Galapagos island (expensive, but a big wih),the famous inca ruins of Machu Picchu, sandboarding in the desert, the glaciars in Patagonia, my pinguin-friends on the most southern point on earth, Buenos aires a great city, Uruguay and Paraguay 2 special countries, the big waterfalls of Iguazu and Brasil is such a great country.
I just visit Brasil for 3 about weeks to short so I have to go back! hahaha!

On the picture you see me paragliding above Rio de Janeiro, WOW what a great experience!!!!!
And great sushi in Rio! And lovely people and language, I have to practice!

Now back to reality! Work again and make some money to go back to lovely Brasil HAHAHA!

Regatta

Last week we had the yearly Regatta Event on Bonaire.

Sailing boats from mainly Aruba and Curacao came over for the event, but there were other different nations as well.

For me I like to see the boats but I am even more enjoying the festivals during this event. There is lots of music on the streets and even more to buy. The opportunity to try the local food!

In April we have dia di Rincon and then I tried Sopi di Yuana (Iguana soup) and last week it was Yorki (salted goat).

So next time when you are staying with us........I challenge you ;-)

Yes, what's NEW lately at Sunrentals Bonaire??

Well, we changed most apartments of the Bonaire Oceanfront Apartments. Meaning NEW comfortable beds (!), NEW curtains, NEW ceiling fans, NEW shower curtains, some NEW lamps, NEW decoration.....and where necessary fresh paint!!

Then there is me, NEW girl in the office.
After some time of "vacation" lazy time was over. I came to Bonaire about 2 years ago, before that I lived 7 years in la Douce France. I had a good time overthere, running my own hotel in the mountains. But we (my husband and I) knew for sure that it wasn't the place to grow old. When we sold the hotel we decided to give it a try in Bonaire, where the sun always shines , very important for the Dutch ;-)
And guess what: we like it a lot over here!!
Because the hotel was very hard working I didn't feel like doing any work for a while. But never working is also boring. And just lucky me, by the time I was ready to go back to work again, there came Sunrentals! Thanks José, Muys and Dennis!

I am here, in the office, waiting for your call or mail. Willing to find you a nice (NEW decorated) apartment or house, answering your questions, helping you out with whatever you want to know or need. Or just step inside and have a chat!

Are you already curious about the apartments and me? Have to wait till the camera is ready to picture it all. Promise, that will be shortly!!

The wind was sooo good last weeks, we did a downwinder!!!

That means we go kiting with offshore wind from Atlantis (kitebeach) to Klein Bonaire!!!

It is a ride about 2 hours, it was great to do and I managed to come there!

Don't ask me about the the next day because I didn't knew I had so many muscles! hahaha Really muscle pain for a week!

haha!

And a few days later the picture of the group was in the newspaper. That was nice!

They can cuddle and stroke the animals and learn how nice and important animals are.

I think it's time to introduce myself!

My name is Joy. I live here since November 2008 but I came often on Bonaire because my parent live here.

I'm in love with this paradise!!!

And working since Januar at the Sunrentals office.

The most important job is to answer your emails/questions a soon as possible.

And to help and advise you to find a perfect place to stay.

So you can have a great vacation on this lovely paradise in a perfect and nice apartment or villa.

We have really some lovely and amazing villas to stay! I like them!

When I have a hour or day off I go directly to the water because I LOVE kiteboarding!!!

It is so great to do!!!

Also I like windsurfing, wakeboarding and scubadiving as well.

And of course relaxing and hang out with my friends!

Hmmm I think I really need more time off hahaha!

A big hobby of mine is photographing.

You can see the dolphins almost every day now!!!

They swim often between Bonaire and Klein Bonaire and swim in the direction Punt vierkant.

Last sunday I saw them near Pink beach I parked my car, jumped into the water and swam , swam.... I came very close!!!

Wow it was so great!!!!

Our purpose is to unite the children of Bonaire.

Hello everybody!

This is the most nicest litlle man on the island! It's Laurens, the grandson of Muys and Josie, and his "aunts" Jose (green shirt) and Tess (white shirt).
Unfortunately he is already back to Holland, but we're looking forward to see him again!!!
Hereby I would like also to thank all our visitors who I did met this last 2,5 year. Today it's my last day at Sunrentals, after 2,5 year working at this company it's time for something else.
What it will be, is not yet sure, however still on our paradise!!
Tess, the other aunt, will take over my job.
It was nice meating you all and hopefully we will meet again somewhere on the island.

Finaly afther 2 years we have a great Indonisian family on the island again and..... guess what ....they started there own place just down town Kralendijk.

How nice to order a Nasi Puti or a Sateh Kambing , a Rendang or Ikan Pepesan again. I know many Bonaire Lovers will be so happy and especialy my Muys is singing whole day now. Guess why!

Bonaire has her first windturbine!! In January they started this amazing eco-project!

And after long and hard work it's finally finished! The turbine already has a name, it's called Suzanne, the name of the girlfriend of the project! How sweet!

This is the first turbine of eco-project that in the future will provide the whole island of electricity!!

We are so happy!!!!

On January 24 our little girl is born!! Only Jose Meegens was right , it was indeed a girl and the names are Frederique Stephanie Willemijn . Named after the terrific soap serie "GOOISCHE VROUWEN" We all hope she will be as adorable as here, but with a better figure! Just like her mom! We wish father and mother so much happiness and so much fun with this beautiful daughter!

5000 MAN ON BONAIRE!!!

BUSY KRALENDIJK!

It was a coming and going of almost 5000 people in Kralendijk. It was so busy and so nice. Taxis were driving all around and the activity centers were doing good business. The Samour was in between the two boats and the landsailing was fully booked. Congratulations everybody! We are happy for you guys.
I hope this will be our future.

And the boats, the boats were even larger than the terrible high buildings on Bonaire.

Hi dear Bonaire lovers,

One of the most beautiful boots of the world is visting Bonaire.

The Octopus owned by Microsoft giant Paul Allen is already here for a week .

We are always proud to see that big people want to visit a small island! This boat has more than 60 staffmember on board and even a submarine!!!! it can stay under water for two month and i suitable for 8 people. The sail boat is even more beautiful than the large boat and the small yetboats are a dream!!!

WARA WARA

Op een fantastische zondagmorgen met een stel fantastische mensen een kopje koffie met cheesecake !
Plots een hoop geklapper en mooie pijlsnelle duik van een grote Wara wara, onze grootste roofvogel, de zeearend.
Hij sleepte een grote vis op het droge en moest er ruim een uur op zitten om hem te dodden en op te peuzelen. Wat een pracht vogel en wat een oerkracht. Masha Danki Inge en Peter dat we dit bij jullie mochten meemaken!

Yesterday we saved 7 turtles , the nest was because of the high water not good and fortunately we could save 7 eggs.
We let them go and bachelors beach and hope one of these days we will see them swimming and dancing thru the water here @ Bonaire.

We named them Funchi, Fanchi, Fenchi, Finchi, Fonchi, Fienschi and Fienchi.

Only 6 weeks to go and we will have an other new staff member...... Willemein, Dirk-Jan or Berend, we are not sure yet, but it will be a handsome small baby, that's for sure!!!

Look how happy and beautiful she looks and how about this cute little stomach???
She is such a pleasure to have in the office and we are going to miss her so much next week.

DONNA THE TRUNKFISH

This is my good friend Donna from the US and we really think she looks like a small trunkfish!!! Donna and Bill are coming over to Bonaire , three times a year!!!They are real Bonaire lovers. And wish they could stay here the whole year.

Wounded Warriors

Last week, at a reception and dinner at the home of Bonaire’s Lt. Governor, the six men known as the Wounded Warriors (soldiers and marines who were severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan) were honored as Bonaire Bronze Medal Ambassadors.
The evening began with an escort to the home of Lt. Governor Domacasse by the Bonaire Motorcycle Club. SunRentals had a great dinner together with the Wounded Warriors and we are all very impressed about these young brave men!!
The six young men were called up to accept their bronze medals with the stated wish that they may return to Bonaire to dive many times in the future.
